More and more people drive electric or hybrid cars. These also need to be charged on holiday and for this the normal power connection at the camping site or holiday home is often used. This is often included in the price of the overnight stay.
How do you deal with that as an entrepreneur? On average, it costs around €8,- per day in electricity to charge a car. In addition, the regular connections are often not suitable for charging a car and fuses can therefore blow out.
Charging stations at the campsite
Installing charging stations is an option. That can be used as a USP, but to meet the need, 4 stations are not enough. Then every location would actually have to have its own charging station. And then it becomes a costly affair.
Limiting power consumption
An alternative is to limit the power consumption. A spot then gets a maximum number of kWh that can be used per day. The power switches off when this maximum is exceeded. ICY Campsite Management offers this possibility. In addition, it also prevents the use of power points of unoccupied spots. These are automatically switched off when there is no active booking on that spot.
Also, a car can no longer cause the fuses to blow. When too much amperage is used, the system temporarily switches off the power as a warning.
